A Beautiful Day for a Fall Plant Sale

The Native Plant Society of Staten Island held our annual Fall Native Plant Sale on Saturday, October 13. It was a beautiful clear day for a sale! Beautiful autumn blooming perennials were available for purchase and snapped up quickly by members old and new. A variety of plants including Little Bluestem, Common Sneezeweed, Anise Scented Goldenrod, New York Ironweed, Beach Plum Shrubs, Blue Ridge Blueberry, Trumpet Honeysuckle, smooth asters and more helped round out an amazing variety of native plants which will beautify so many Staten Island properties.

A lovely plant pedestal, donated by Roger Sherry, was raffled off, and the winner was thrilled!

We were also joined by the Fresh Kills Alliance, with whom NPSSI is partnering to install a native garden at their headquarters on Richmond Avenue. We are still seeking volunteers to assist with the planting on November 10 from 12 to 2 pm. RSVP here if you can make it!
