Gardens
Since 2024, we have been planting public native plant gardens to inspire gardeners and support our local ecosystem.
Since 2024, the Native Plant Society of Staten Island has worked with volunteers to install two gardens. Both are open to the public, and we hope that you will visit and feel inspired to incorporate native plants into your own gardens.

In the summer of 2024, we planted the Virginia N. Sherry Memorial Garden, dedicated to the memory of our late founder.
Check out the plant list and read our article about the garden’s dedication event.
This garden is located at 76 Franklin Avenue on the grounds of Christ Church New Brighton, a short walk from Virginia’s former home.

And over the spring and summer of 2025, with the support of the North Shore Rotary Club, we installed a native pollinator on the grounds of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
Peruse the plant list and read more about the garden’s inauguration.
Visit the garden at 347 Davis Avenue.
